District Profile

Rittman Exempted Village Schools are the pride of the Rittman community… a small town with a big heart!

The Rittman Schools are committed to guiding every child to reaching their full potential: academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Smaller schools foster personal attention for every child. This district enrollment is currently 824 total students, with 28 preschool students, 356 elementary students, 185 middle school students, and 255 high school students.

Meeting the needs of the entire community is a priority. In partnership with parents, higher-education institutions and businesses, the district is designing instruction to ensure all students are successful.

Rittman Exempted Village Schools consists of a beautiful campus including an early learning center with preschool aged students, an elementary school with grades Kindergarten through 5th grade, a middle school/high school building with wings for grades 6-8 and 9-12 and a multipurpose building that houses the board of education offices. Every classroom is equipped with interactive displays and multimedia technologies.  Additionally, one-to-one Chromebook devices are provided for all students in grades K-12.

The Rittman School District adheres to high academic expectations.  Students are offered an ever-growing selection of course and program options. The College Academy provides an on-campus option for students to take a full load of post-secondary courses. Students can earn between 50-60 college credit hours over the course of two school years, without ever leaving the Rittman campus. These credits are transferrable to all public universities in the state of Ohio and most of Ohio’s private institutions. These courses are dual-credit and count toward high school graduation as well. Additionally, in collaboration with other Wayne County schools, a business and entrepreneurship pathway via a state-of-the-art interactive distance learning lab is also available.

Students are also encouraged to participate in their choice of athletic sports (middle school, junior varsity, and varsity teams), as well as scholarly and fine arts activities such Honor Society, Student Council, plays, musicals, concerts, and art shows.

District personnel work with parents on an ongoing basis to ensure all the needs of our students are met so that they can focus on building their own bright future. The schools have contract the services of a Social Worker and mental health counselors to work with students and families.

The Rittman community, from our parents and staff to community members, volunteer and business partners, all work together in a variety of ways to provide a solid foundation for our students to maximize their opportunities for success. Through PTOs, Booster Clubs, and field trips the parents and community members of Rittman contribute hundreds of hours each year to further enhance the learning opportunities for all of our children.
